Olive Tree

India, 2024

In Indian culture, the sacred ficus represents eternity, spiritual connection, and fertility and is a recurring symbol in wedding celebrations. For an Indian wedding held in Puglia, this meaning was reinterpreted through one of the most iconic elements of the Mediterranean landscape: the olive tree.

Studio Light Mariano designed and created a six-meter-tall golden olive tree, conceived as a bespoke scenographic installation for the wedding and a symbolic meeting point between Indian culture and Apulian identity.

The project subsequently inspired another Indian couple, who commissioned a new version of the work for their wedding in New Delhi. In this case, the installation was developed on an even more monumental scale, reaching twelve meters in height.

From Puglia to India, the project demonstrates how event scenography, bespoke design, and craftsmanship can reinterpret symbols from different cultures, creating installations specifically tailored to the location and story of each event.

The pinnacle of magic: the luminous tree shines in the embrace of the night, illuminating the DLF Golf and Country Club. More than an installation, it's a symbol of eternal love.
