La Forma dello Spazio
Marinella Senatore
Verona, 2026
In Verona, at Fondazione Cariverona, Studio Light Mariano realised La Forma dello Spazio, a light sculpture designed by Marinella Senatore in which structure, materials and light come together in a highly distinctive vertical composition.
The artwork begins with a base entirely made of aluminium, from which the supporting structure in steel rises upwards. The project combines different materials and manufacturing techniques, carefully developed to coexist within a single construction system and to maintain continuity between the structural elements, decorative components and lighting.
Along the vertical structure, illuminated candles made with transparent acrylic elements alternate with a rich composition of leaves produced through 3D printing with integrated lighting. Technology thus becomes an integral part of the artwork’s decorative language: the leaves create a luminous botanical texture that wraps around the structure, introducing movement, depth and rhythm into the composition.
The candles, arranged at different heights, guide the viewer’s gaze upwards and enhance the sculpture’s verticality. At the top, the large aluminium Sun completes the artwork and becomes its main focal point. Its radial geometry is enhanced by different shades of light generated through LED strips, creating a chromatic progression that amplifies the installation’s scenographic presence.
La Forma dello Spazio reflects Studio Light Mariano’s ability to translate Marinella Senatore’s artistic conceptthrough the integration of steel, aluminium, acrylic, 3D printing and LED technology. Craftsmanship, design, technological innovation and research into light converge in a contemporary light art sculpture, creating a dialogue between artwork, architecture and exhibition space within Fondazione Cariverona.
