Cracco Restaurant

In the heart of Milan, the Cracco restaurant hosts We Rise by Lifting Others, a work by Marinella Senatore inspired by the language of traditional Southern Italian illuminations. The 11-meter-long and 3-meter-high light installation interacts with the historic architecture, transforming light into an integral part of the space.

For the installation, the company developed a specific structural solution that avoided the need for plates and mechanical anchors on the existing building. A pressure and compression load-bearing system was therefore designed, sized based on a careful survey of the space and precisely adapted to the geometry of the space.

The project thus combines a site-specific light installation, structural design, and craftsmanship, allowing Marinella Senatore's work to blend into the architectural context without invasive interventions on the historic surfaces. These works reinterpret Baroque architectural forms in a contemporary key, focusing primarily on rose windows and portals and placing the importance of community and the power of art and participation at the center.
